Flat Files Pricing Use Cases

Sample pricing simulations to help estimate Flat Files usage across different datasets and download patterns.

Flat Files Pricing Use Cases

These use cases show how Flat Files pricing can be estimated across different datasets, symbols, time ranges, and download methods.

Each example is based on a specific scenario, such as downloading Limit Order Book, OHLCV, Trades or Quotes data for selected exchanges and symbols. The goal is to help you understand how data transfer, API requests, Usage Credits, committed plans, and overages may affect the total estimated cost.

These examples are pricing simulations only. Actual usage may vary depending on the selected dataset, file size, time range, number of files, download method, retries, multipart behavior, and tool configuration.

Before using these estimates

Flat Files costs may include both:

  1. Data transfer usage, based on the dataset type and downloaded file size.
  2. API request usage, based on the number of GET, HEAD, LIST, or other requests made by your download tool.

Some tools may generate additional requests automatically. For example, they may list files before downloading, check file metadata with HEAD requests, retry failed downloads, or use multipart/ranged GET downloads for larger files.

How to read the examples

Each use case includes:

  • The dataset, exchange, symbol, and time range
  • The estimated file size and number of files
  • The pricing assumptions used in the calculation
  • One or more request scenarios
  • A comparison between Pay As You Go and committed plans
  • Caveats that may affect real-world usage
